History

Officially the core group for IZ0 got together in 2008 under the name Calamitous intent more out of boredom and the desire to entertain ourselves than for any other reason

At the time it is was made up of Shane smith (producer, song writer, guitarist), jolianna wright (song writer, bass) and chad davis (song writer, lead vocals) and Mike Dee (lead guitarist) Eventually it grew, evolved and included “mailman” Charles Huffman (drummer), Jeremy Robinson (bass).

By the time jeremy joined the group and started seriously taking the role of bassist on. we dropped the name calamitous intent for the name Ichi zero.

Up to this point the band only played covers publicly, while under the cover of thick blankets and closed doors we quietly picked at our own songs and style

after our tenth show under the name calamitous intent. We officially changed the name and line up of the group and started getting serious

by this point chad was no longer a member of the band, jolianna had taken on the role of lead vocalist.

Jeremy and mailman became the anchors for a whole new sound. We still played around with the occasional cover from time to time, but the goal and focus was entirely on producing our own music.

It became an avalanche.

The music was basically writing itself. The quality of venues became bigger and better, our songs were finding a new power and life with every passing day.

By 2010 we expanded the band again into a whole variety act. With backup dancers, fire dancers, hand drummers, varying members of different burlesque and vaudeville troupes and solo dancers from a local Tulsa ballet company.

Since then IZ0 has gone through many line up and style changes with a widely varying crew from different places across the map. IZ0 is permanently evolving and changing and becoming something else all of the time.

And will continue to do so until the end

Where Ichi zero came from

the name as with most things in the history of IZ0 is entirely derived from the bands desire to gut chuckle at complete nonsense.

There is a deeper meaning and context to it.

But you will have to figure that one out on your own :P
